Some interesting info passed on to us by Eileen & Michael (mum & dad) that was in the Telegraph recently.

Apparently a number of West African countries now prefer to trade in Euro’s rather than in their own currency. Previously they have preferred to trade in French francs. The countries mentioned are Benin, Congo, Ivory Coast, Chad, Gabon and Mali.
